Samford University’s Department of Healthcare Administration will host its inaugural Health Care Leadership Legacy Workshop and Luncheon Oct. 6.

The workshops will focus on presenting students, faculty and health care professionals with valuable knowledge and wisdom from leaders in Birmingham’s dynamic health care community, according to Tondra Moore, Samford’s Department of Healthcare Administration chair.

The event will also provide a valuable opportunity for undergraduate and graduate health care administration students to interact with a broad array of health care administration professionals and executives who have traveled various paths to success in health care administration.

Neeysa Biddle, who retired as senior vice president of Ascension Healthcare System earlier this summer, will be keynote speaker. Biddle began her career in health care at the age of 16, working as a clerk filing X-ray reports after school. Her story shows that there are no straight lines to a successful career in health care leadership, Moore noted.

The conference will also include facilitated panel discussions with time for questions and answers at the end.

The Health Care Leadership Legacy Workshop and Luncheon will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Samford University’s Howard Room. The event is free to attend, a continental breakfast and lunch will be served. We simply ask that you register online if you plan to attend.
