Samford's soccer Bulldogs defeated Vanderbilt University in a dramatic double-overtime win Sept. 13 at the Samford Soccer and Track Stadium. It was Samford's third straight win this season over a team from the Southeastern Conference. Samford posted wins earlier this season over the University of Tennessee and cross-state rival Auburn University.
It is Samford's first outright victory over the Commodores. Samford won a penalty kick shoot-out against Vanderbilt in the first round of the 2005 NCAA playoffs.
