Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law will offer its annual Continuing Legal Education by the Hour program on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 8 a.m.-5:40 p.m.
Participants may attend all eight one-hour courses or choose specific topics of interest. All sessions will be held in the moot courtroom of Robinson law building.
Course topics are: immigrant clients and civil litigation, ethics update on Alabama Rules of Professional Conduct, mediation strategies, ethics of time-based billing, insurance preparation if a disaster strikes your business, resolving Medicare’s interest in workers’ compensation and liability settlements, Alabama’s new Power of Attorney Act, and pitfalls and perils in family law. The ethics courses are each approved for one ethics hour of CLE credit.
Registration fee is $60 per hour of CLE credit, and includes admission, course materials on a CD, and refreshments. CLE credit will be reported to the Alabama State Bar before Jan. 15, 2012.
