Samford's Latin American Studies progam will present the colloquia series Perspectives on Latin America starting Feb. 22. Funding for the Colloquia is provided by an Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language Grant from the United States Department of Education Each of the colloquia, which are free of charge and open to the public, will take place in Brock Forum, Dwight Beeson Hall.

Colloquium I: Perspectives on Latin America - The Political and Economic Scene will take place Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7:00 p.m. Visiting Scholars taking part in the colloquium will include:

Dr. Todd S. Crider, International Attorney, Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP; Director, Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice Initiatives, New York

Colloquium II: Perspectives on Latin America– Religion and the Church will take place Tuesday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m.

Visiting and Resident Scholars taking part in the colloquium will include:

Colloquium III: Perspectives on Latin–America Issues of Indigenous Peoples will take place Thursday, 26 April 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Visiting Scholars taking part in the colloquium will include:
