Samford University pharmacy student Angel Stivers is the 2005 recipient of a $2,000 scholarship from the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation.
A third-year student at Samford's McWhorter School of Pharmacy, Stivers was chosen from 450 applicants nationwide. The scholarship program recognizes future leaders in the chain community pharmacy industry.
Stivers is president of the Samford student chapter of the American Pharmaceutical Association, and is a southeastern regional delegate to the national organization. A student voting member of the Alabama Pharmacy Association's Board of Trustees, she also serves on the Samford school of pharmacy's accreditation self-study committee.
Stivers is a member of the National Community Pharmacists Association and Phi Lambda Sigma national pharmacy leadership fraternity. She is from Paris, Ky.
