Samford University debater James Radford of Madison was selected by the Commission on International Discussion and Debate to join this summer's American National Debate Team tour of Japan.
Radford advanced through a national multi-level selection and audition process to be chosen for the two-person policy debate team. The Samford senior English major will spend July touring universities in Japan and participating in a series of debates regarding international politics and American culture.
Radford was selected on the basis of his Samford debate accomplishments and skill, in addition to his broad academic and cultural interests.
