Honoring Boyd E. Christenberry’s Legacy
The Boyd E. Christenberry Planetarium, dedicated in 2005, honors the life and legacy of Boyd E. Christenberry, a Samford life trustee and retired executive of Alfa Insurance Corporation.
A leader in both his career and civic life, Christenberry exemplified dedication and service. As chairman of Samford’s board of trustees (1998–2002), his unwavering encouragement of the university’s mission left a lasting impact. Beyond Samford he contributed to numerous community organizations and served as a mentor and leader to many.
Christenberry’s generosity and vision continue to inspire generations of learners at Samford.
