Prior to coming to Samford, Karina was a National Honor Society member, Mu Alpha Theta member, Link Crew Leader, and a SPARK! Pre-Professional Health Sciences Academy student at Parkway Central High School. Karina graduated with honors and earned a Distinguished Seal of Biliteracy in Russian. She is an active member at her church back in St. Louis, helping with childcare, Sunday school, youth worship team, community service, and student-led ministry. While at Samford, Karina will be studying Nursing in hopes of becoming a Pediatric Trauma Nurse. Through the Micah Fellows program, Karina hopes to gain knowledge and experience of service work, and make an impact on the Birmingham community.
