The Samford University Alumni Association is looking forward to welcoming thousands of alumni back to campus on Homecoming Weekend, Friday, Nov. 4-5. The exciting weekend tradition will feature many opportunities for alumni and their families to fellowship together beginning on Friday night with the Samford Alumni Celebration, an upscale and upbeat social affair to honor all that Samford was, is and will be. This can’t-miss event took on a new feel last year—what was once known as the Alumni Candlelight Dinner got a new name, new itinerary and a new ambiance—and guests can expect even more delightful features this year. Alumni will experience luxurious and enjoyable food stations by Savoie Catering. In addition, the Samford Jazz Band will provide live music for entertainment and dancing. In keeping with tradition, the Samford Alumni Celebration will recognize the 2022 Alumni of the Year honorees with a special tribute and will provide a university update from President Beck A. Taylor. The cost to attend is just $25, attire is festive chic and reservations can be made by visiting the homecoming website. We look forward to celebrating our alma mater and our Alumni of the Year with you!
For those with small children who may be unable to attend the Alumni Celebration, make plans to come to the Samford Family Homecoming Dinner and Pep Rally in Seibert Stadium. This casual pizza party will include games and toys and a special appearance by Samford athletes, marching band and cheerleaders! This will be a fun, relaxed opportunity for alumni to catch up with Samford friends while their kids have a ball in a safe, family-friendly setting. This event is free to attend and reservations can be made here. Regardless of which Friday evening event you choose to attend, the Samford University Alumni Association is excited to enjoy these two Homecoming events with you.
On Saturday, alumni and friends can expect an array of events and activities including class reunions and a worship service in the morning. Then, tents will be covering the Quad in a sea of red and blue as Bulldog fans young and old join in the tailgate fun prior to the football game versus Virginia Military Institute at 2 p.m. For a complete list of Homecoming events, please visit the homecoming website.
