Recent Samford University graduates are entering the workforce or advancing their degrees quickly and successfully. Six months after graduation, 97% of December 2021 graduates reported being either employed or continuing their education in graduate school.
“While the percentage of new graduates last December who were employed or in graduate school within six months was very strong, this year’s numbers even exceed those. It demonstrates that in the post-Covid-19 world, our students are more in demand than ever, demonstrating the value they add to the various types of organizations they join,” said Dora Ditchfield, director of the Career Development Center. “We couldn’t be happier with these results.”
Last year, the percentage of December 2020 graduates who were employed or enrolled in graduate school was 96%.
As of June 6, of the December 2021 graduates, 73% were employed and 24% were enrolled in graduate school.
Samford’s Career Development Center administers the bi-annual survey of all undergraduate alumni which confirms consistently high employment and graduate school placement rates for Samford graduates.
The high rate of engagement speaks to the student support provided by faculty and staff. Beginning their freshman year, students are equipped with resources to explore interests and career aspirations through student organizations, global engagement opportunities, and individual career counseling services and assistance that evolves to meet their needs as they continue through Samford. The result is a highly-tailored educational experience that results in high employment and graduate school acceptance rates among graduates.
