The Alabama Men's Hall of Fame seeks nominations for its 2014 class of honorees. Deadline for nominations is March 15.
The Hall of Fame annually recognizes men who are native to or are identified closely with the state of Alabama and have made significant contributions on a state, national or international scale. Nominees must have been deceased for at least two years.
Housed in Samford University's Harwell G. Davis Library, the Hall of Fame was established by the State of Alabama in 1987. To date, 71 men have been honored with induction. The most recent inductees, in 2013, were former Samford president and educator Thomas E. Corts, publisher and philanthropist Emory Cunningham, and biologist and author Eugene B. Sledge.
A nomination form and a list of all prior inductees can be found on the website. For more information, contact AMHF executive secretary Annette Green at (205) 879-3935 or email anniegreen2404@gmail.com.
Nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee and the AMHF board of directors. The formal induction ceremony and luncheon will be held in Birmingham in September.
The nominations must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2014, and mailed to Alabama Men's Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 292307, Samford University, Birmingham, AL 35229.
