The Samford University Alumni Association will host events during April in Cullman, Ala.; Memphis, Tenn.; Gadsden, Ala.; Washington, D.C.; and Montgomery, Ala.
Advance reservations are required for all events. Registration is available online.
"We are excited about reaching out to our alumni in cities across the Southeast in April," said David Goodwin, director of alumni programs, "and we look forward to traveling to Washington, D.C., a city that represents such an important part of the Samford family."
The cities, dates, times and locations are:
Cullman, April 2, 6 p.m. dinner, All-Steak Restaurant.
Memphis, April 9, 6 p.m. dinner, Ridgeway Country Club.
Gadsden, April 18, 6:30 p.m. reception, home of Samford trustee Ronnie Watkins and his wife, Lynn.
Washington, April 22, 7 p.m. reception, Capital Hilton Hotel.
Montgomery, April 30, 6 p.m. dinner, Montgomery Country Club.
The Alumni Association will also host an African-American luncheon for alumni and friends of the university. The African-American luncheon will be April 18 at The Club in Birmingham at 12 p.m. This is the fifth year the Alumni Association has held the luncheon, an event that Goodwin noted is important for the university.
"We know that a more diverse campus will make for a better campus," Goodwin said. "There is room for increased participation from our African-American alumni and we hope this event can be a starting point."
