A new Miss Samford University will be crowned Saturday, Oct. 15. Six contestants will compete in the 7 p.m. pageant in Wright Center Concert Hall. The winner will represent the university in the Miss Alabama pageant in June.

Competition categories include talent, evening wear, swimsuit and on-stage questions.  Individual interviews will be held earlier in the day.

Contestants are Ellen Hardy, a sophomore theatre major from Anniston, Ala.; Rebekah Harris, a sophomore education major from Crane Hill, Ala.; Kristyn Jones, a senior biology major from Pelham, Ala.;  Christi Myers, a senior sports medicine major from Wetumpka, Ala.; Sarah Kathryn Sharp, a sophomore family studies major from Vestavia Hills, Ala.; and Liz Zegler, a sophomore nursing major from Cottondale, Ala.

Student directors of the pageant are Karlie Calhoun, Jane Alice Moore and Weathers Veazey.
