Samford University will host its annual Family Weekend September 24-26. More than 900 family members have pre-registered for the three-day program that includes family-friendly comedy, a Parents Association meeting, football game and other events.

The schedule starts Friday, Sept. 24, with 3 p.m. check-in and an 8 p.m. performance by the Chicago-based professional comedy improv troupe, Laugh Out Loud.

Saturday’s events include a 10:30 a.m. Parents Association meeting with Samford president Andrew Westmoreland, an academic fair attended by faculty members and a tailgate lunch prior to the 2 p.m. football game against Southern Conference perennial national power Appalachian State.

An outdoor family movie night will be held on the campus quadrangle at 8:30 p.m. The feature presentation will be “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.”

On Sunday, students and families can take in a Samford women’s soccer match or attend the annual Hymn Sing, which features congregational singing of familiar church songs. Both events begin at 2 p.m.
