Friends of Preparatory Music Advisory Board, a support group of the Samford University Preparatory Music Department, will hold a benefit gala dinner and silent auction Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Wynfrey Hotel ballroom. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for viewing of silent auction items.

Guests will enjoy entertainment by the Preparatory Department Honors Ensemble. Auction items include themed packages and baskets of treats ranging from concert and play tickets to spa passes.

Proceeds will support an endowment fund for scholarships, diversification of program offerings, and the department's overall operation and facilities.

Tickets are $62.50 individual or $125 couple. Tables for 10 are available for $625, $750 or $1,000. Children's tickets for a special chicken finger meal are available for $50.

The Samford Preparatory Department offers music education and performance opportunities for students of all ages. The program currently enrolls 234 students in its pre-school, school-age and adult classes.
