On Monday, October 16, Samford's Resource Center for Pastoral Excellence will host the second annual God's Potters Conference on Pastoral Leadership and the Shaping of Congregations. The conference will be held at the Beeson School of Divinity-South Wing on Samford University's campus starting at 8 a.m., and concluding at 5:30 p.m.
God's Potters is an interdenominational and interracial clergy conference that builds on the Apostle Paul's image of Christians as clay jars, and explores the idea of pastoral leaders as God's potters- those called to form congregational "jars" that reveal God's treasure.
The day will be divided into a morning presentation and afternoon workshop session. The morning presentation--Shaping Congregational "Clay Jars"-will be led by Dr. Jackson Carroll. Afternoon workshops will touch on a variety of topics, including organic leadership, study leaves and sabbaticals, healthy congregations, personal issues and utilizing spiritual direction in pastoral ministry. A time of worship and fellowship will conclude the day.
Register online no later than October 10, 2006. Unless noted otherwise, there is a $25 registration fee for "God's Potters". For additional information or questions, follow the link below or call (205) 726-4064.
