What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland?

The best thing about Cumberland is community. I have never felt alone throughout this process because I have friends, faculty, and staff who make it clear that they are here to support me throughout this journey. Law school is better when you have a community pushing you to not only become a great attorney but a well-rounded individual.

Why did you choose Cumberland?

I chose Cumberland because Cumberland felt like home. It reminded me alot of my undergraduate tour when I visited. Not only did I feel welcomed but I felt safe. I felt that I would be able to do great things at Cumberland because I would have the necessary support to do so. It brought me closer home to my family and allowed me to make new friends.

What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?

Birmingham is the legal mecca of Alabama. Everywhere I go, I am running into an attorney but mostly a Cumberland attorney. The network is expansive and the opportunities are endless in Birmingham. As someone who worked before law school, I am most grateful for the opportunities Birmingham has provided that I truly believed I could not receive outside of Atlanta.

If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?

It is okay to take your time. I beat myself up for not going to law school straight out of undergrad. But, the timing has been PERFECT. I was able to work and gain hands-on experience in the field that has shaped my ability to remain calm in the face of stress and truly thrive in this environment.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

I want to be a litigator at a mid-size law firm.
