What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland?
The best thing about Cumberland is the community we have here, including the faculty and students. Entering law school as a first generation law student can be intimidating, however, the very first time I entered Cumberland, I knew this would be right place for me. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. I immediately felt like I belonged!
Why did you choose Cumberland?
I chose Cumberland because of the many opportunities you have to grow here. With so many organizations, I believe there is a place for everyone here. I knew I would find a sense of community here at Cumberland. Although my first time stepping into Cumberland was during orientation week, I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in.
What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?
I enjoy everything Birmingham has to offer. There are so many great coffee shops and restaurants here, you will never get bored! Going to college at UAB, I knew Birmingham was a vibrant city. I knew I could not pass up the opportunity to stay for three more years!
If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?
I would tell my pre-law school self to just relax and enjoy everything as it comes. It is easy to feel stressed and pressured, especially when taking the LSAT and applying. However, just know everything will work out for you in the end. Just relax and take every day as it comes! What do you plan to do after graduation?
I plan to hopefully join a personal injury firm or practice real estate law. I am not sure yet what my plans will be after graduation, but I am hoping to continue practicing law in either the Birmingham or Atlanta area!
