Samford University Cumberland School of Law hosted the 31st annual Thurgood Marshall Symposium which recognized the 70th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education. Victor Jones, senior counsel at the NAACP’s Legal Defense Fund Defense, served as the keynote speaker.

Cumberland School of Law Symposium Addresses Environmental Regulation in a Diminished Administrative State
On Jan. 31, Samford University Cumberland School of Law hosted the inaugural Cumberland Law Land Use and Natural Resources Law Center Symposium, in partnership with Cumberland’s Continuing Legal Education department. Sean Modjarrad, JD ’00, MAcc ’00, MBA ’00, is the managing shareholder and founder of MAS Law in Dallas, Texas. After attending the University of North Texas for his undergraduate degree, Modjarrad received his Juris Doctor, Master of Accountancy and Master of Business Administration from Samford University. He has dedicated his life to fighting for justice and providing a voice for the voiceless. Here he reflects on his legal education and career as a
