Lauren Molander advises students on study, work, volunteer, and intern abroad opportunities and actively promotes the portfolio of Samford Abroad programs to current and prospective Samford students. She provides high-quality support for students through the recruitment, application, and return phases of the study abroad experience through one-on-one advising and managing the peer advisor program. Additionally, Lauren serves as the primary campus and community facing position on the Samford Abroad team and is responsible for increasing campus awareness of Samford Abroad opportunities through multiple marketing and promotional avenues.

Having a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Sociology from Samford's Howard College of Arts and Sciences, coupled with international experience educationally and professionally, Lauren is uniquely suited for this role and connecting with Samford students of all backgrounds. During her time as an undergraduate at Samford, she studied abroad for a semester in Costa Rica and for a summer term in Spain. After graduating, she accepted a position as an English Conversation Assistant at a K-12 school in Bucaramanga, Colombia. When the opportunity to return to Samford arrived, she was eager to give back to the office that provided such steadfast support during her international educational experiences as an undergraduate. Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and their pets, as well as building relationships with Spanish-speaking people in Birmingham.
