Shannon Skelton holds an MFA in creative writing from Georgia College and State University and an MAE in English education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her fiction and non-fiction can be found in Image, the Flannery O’Connor Review, The Lemonwood Quarterly, Ruminate, and Relief. Some of her teaching and research interests include creative writing; contemporary fiction and non-fiction; first-year writing and research; Flannery O’Connor; literacies of grief, loss, and lament; the intersection of creative writing and composition pedagogies; writing and faith; and writing and human flourishing in the age of AI. Shannon taught middle and high school English in public and private schools before earning her MFA in fiction at Georgia College, where she taught creative writing and composition as a Graduate Teaching Fellow and served as Fiction Editor for Arts and Letters and Assistant Supervisor of the Writing Center. Along with her family, she attends Christ the King Anglican Church, where she serves as a member of the Arts Council.
