Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy earned the maximum eight-year reaccreditation from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), reaffirming its long-standing reputation for excellence.

Among the first accredited private pharmacy schools in the country, McWhorter will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027. Continuously accredited since 1941, ACPE accreditation signifies that the school has met rigorous national standards for quality.

In its most recent review, the school met all 25 ACPE standards and received recognition for its simulation activities, interprofessional facilities, and outstanding faculty. The results reinforce the school’s position as the top-ranked private pharmacy school in the South (U.S. News & World Report, 2024).

Dean Michael Crouch called the reaccreditation a testament to the school's legacy of success. “This achievement speaks to the strength of our academic program, the dedication of our faculty and staff, and the engagement of our students,” Crouch said. “We are proud of this achievement and excited about our momentum as we approach our centennial celebration in 2027.”
