What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland?
The best thing about Cumberland School of Law is its commitment to student success. The faculty and staff are committed to ensuring that students have the resources they need to succeed. Whether you’re getting guidance from the Career Development Office or sitting down with a professor, they are always eager to help.
Why did you choose Cumberland?
I chose Cumberland School of Law because of its strong sense of community. The faculty and staff at this school care about the success and wellbeing of the students. This level of care is demonstrated both inside and outside of the classroom. Likewise, the student body is very friendly and supportive. This kind of culture has made adapting to law school much easier.
What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?
What I enjoy most about studying law in Birmingham is the variety of legal opportunities available. This variety, along with Cumberland’s proximity to Birmingham, makes it more convenient to tap into potential career opportunities. Out in Birmingham, I enjoy going to a good coffee shop and hiking at Oak Mountain State Park.
If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?
Stay focused and committed but also give yourself the opportunity to recharge. As the semester goes on, it will be critical that you are getting the rest you need and taking time to do things outside of law school. If you don’t give yourself the ability to recharge and reset, it can catch up with you as the semester goes on.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
I am keeping an open mind, but I would like to start my career working at a small or mid-sized firm.
