Legal Interests
I am interested in civil litigation and constitutional law. I am open to both prosecution and defense, and I look forward to gaining knowledge and experience in both areas throughout my time at Cumberland.
Outside Interests/Hobbies
Outside of school, I enjoy reading, traveling, going on walks, and spending time with my friends and family.
What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland?
The best thing about Cumberland is the community! The encouragement I receive daily from the students, professors, and faculty at Cumberland has had a huge impact on my law school experience, and I could not be more thankful for the support system I have found here.
Why did you choose Cumberland?
I chose Cumberland because of the school’s dedication to the academic success and personal growth of its students. Not only does Cumberland take pride in producing excellent legal practitioners, but it also works to instill the importance of honesty, perseverance, and professionalism in its students. The faculty and staff at Cumberland lead by example and encourage us daily to be the best version of ourselves, both personally and professionally.
What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?
Birmingham has a booming legal market that has provided me with ample opportunities for professional development. Since moving to Birmingham in July 2024, I have had the opportunity to connect with legal professionals in a variety of practice areas who have graciously offered their advice and encouragement as I work to navigate law school and prepare for the career ahead. Outside of school and professional development, I have loved exploring Birmingham with my friends by going on walks and trying new restaurants. Birmingham has so much to offer, and I could not be happier to call this city home!
If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?
If I could offer one piece of advice to my pre-law school self, it would be to not let the negativity surrounding the legal profession deter you from pursuing your dream of becoming an attorney. Throughout my undergraduate years, there were several moments when I considered changing my academic path due to the discouraging comments I received about the legal field. However, law school has proven to be one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. I’m grateful that I chose to rise above the negativity and pursue my passion. Looking back, my only regret is spending so much time doubting my decision. What do you plan to do after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to stay in Birmingham and practice at a civil litigation firm. Although I am not sure what practice areas I am interested in specifically, I am excited to learn more about what the legal field has to offer during my time at Cumberland!
