Emma Knowles is a local artist who recently graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts with a focus in 2D mediums. She has always had an affinity for art, but her interest in a career started when she was fifteen years old. She was raising money for a mission trip and decided to sell a few paintings. The rest is history. She started out mostly working with acrylics, but now enjoys soft pastel, oil, watercolor, ceramics, etc. While in school she was awarded Studio Art Student of the Year twice, and Undergraduate Art Major of the Year once. She has run her own business since 2020 taking commissions and selling art online as well as at festivals. She has competed in Pacesetter Gallery’s plein air competition two years in a row and won second place in oils once. In her free time she enjoys kayaking with her family, reading, playing piano, singing, hiking, camping and hanging out with friends. She teaches Pottery and Adult Painting with Watercolors at the Samford Academy of the Arts.
